La Ferrari madness at Spa
Two weeks ago I received an e-mail of a fellow petrolhead asking if i’d be at Spa the following weekend. He’d be driving his car on Saturday. With no things planned and his car being a LaFerrari, i didn’t hesitate for a moment and decided to head off to Spa on Saturday morning.
While on my way i received a text message of the owner saying the track was wet. Too wet. When i arrived the track even was closed due to fog. Not the perfect conditions to drive a 963hp RWD hypercar, but with the owner’s name being ‘Powerslide Lover’ i knew this was going to be interesting.
I met up with the very kind man and asked him if it’d be able to join him for a couple of laps. “Sure, no problem”, he said. Excited as hell, i got seated in the LaFerrari’s alcantara bucket seats and enjoyed the combination of 963hp, RWD, worn out semi-slick tyres, a wet Spa-Francorchamps and an enthousiastic driver. I’ve been in quite a lot of nice cars, but the LaFerrari was like nothing i had ever experienced before. Absolutely mindblowing. Here is some on-board footage of my experience:

As you can see in the video the owner wasn’t afraid to powerslide his 1.5 million dollar Ferrari around the great Belgian racetrack. I also managed to get a photo of him going sideways at the Bus Stop Chicane.

After the Track Day, I arranged a quick photoshoot of the car at the most beautiful corner of the track, Eau Rouge. A big thank you to the owner and the track direction for making this possible!

I hope to join the owner again soon on another (hopefully dry) track day on Spa or the Nordschleife, to feel the full potential of this awesome car. And to bring you guys some more cool photos ofcourse!
Cheers,
Dennis
